Now you can own your personal piece of lighthouse history. A working (or non-functional) piece of art crafted just for you. You can select from a catalog of my favorite choices or negotiate a really special one of your design.
Each Lighthouse is:
handmade in the Pacific Northwest using materials such as poplar, hemlock, and basalt, all native to this area
permanently mounted on stone or basalt base
hand-painted with vivid authentic colors
averages between 8 and 22 inches in height
modeled after famous lighthouses from around the world
functional - with built-in battery operated circuitry which presents image of rotating beacon or non-functional with non-illuminating painted light
made-to-order, custom or from a standard selection of models dated, numbered, and signed by the artist designed to be used indoors as a showpiece
These Lighthouses are NOT mass-produced in some factory. They are each crafted by me in my workshop in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State). They are patterned after real lighthouses from around the globe and in most cases authentically 'scaled' to size.
In the 'functioning' pieces I have inbedded battery-operated solid-state circuitry which powers an LED mounted as the beacon in the lens area of the lighthouse. There are no moving parts and the light actually appears to be rotating because of the unique circuitry that causes is it to slowly illuminate to full power and then dim again to its lowest point. Even with this electronic feature there are NO wires or plug-ins to worry about or to spoil the view.
In the 'non-functioning' lighthouses, there are no electronics and the piece is generally less expensive.
Selection and Ordering Process:
I create each Lighthouse to order and depending upon their complexity they will take between two days and three weeks to complete.
Step One -- choose from my selection of models shown on the catalog pages OR select any lighthouse of your choice in the world (custom) Step Three -- I will communicate back to you with a fixed price and delivery quote, and/or a request for more information
Step Four -- I accept money orders, payment through PayPal, or cashiers checks, after which your individual lighthouse will be created and sent to you.
